Turns out, that was a portal to Atlantis.
From the looks of it, it was built to be underwater.
The place is abandoned.
Turning around, you notice your friends have gathered. You swim over.
The group decides to explore the nearest building.
It's covered with spikes. Must have housed something important.
The group swims through a tiny hole at the side.
It's dark, no one can see anything.
Suddenly, something closes down on the tiny opening.

The room becomes lit and the water starts draining out.

The group looks around the room.
